patrick + lori | married

This wedding by far was the most adventurous yet!

Lori grew up in my husband’s neighborhood and they have known each other for a long time. Lori craves adventure, loves to travel, has lived in numerous countries, and was definitely not expecting to fall in love with a boy from their small hometown of Staples. But she certainly found her match in Patrick, a wilderness fire-fighter who most recently was stationed in Alaska.

When Lori and Patrick chose the North Shore for their wedding I could not have been more excited. All morning on the day of the wedding Nathan and I obsessively checked the weather. It appeared that it was going to stay dry, but literally as we were staging the couple’s ‘first look’ the rain drops began to fall. We did what we could outdoors, standing under trees, in alcoves, doorways, and under umbrellas and I am thrilled with the results! I have to give a BIG thank you to Lori, Patrick and their attendants for their flexibility and willingness to work with me!

Unfortunately the rain didn’t let up as we hiked up to Shovel Point at Tettegouche State Park for the ceremony. Most brides I know would be in tears at this point, but Lori was literally jumping with joy that she got to get married while wearing her rubber boots! Miraculously the rain stopped just as the ceremony was getting started, and by the time it was over the sun had begun to peek through the clouds. It was breathtaking! This part of the state is unbelievably picturesque and a dream for a photographer!

Congratulations to Lori and Patrick on putting together such a beautiful, wonderful wedding day filled with love and adventure! Click on the image below to view the slideshow.

Bri these are GORGEOUS! And I can’t tell you how jealous I am that you got to shoot a wedding on the North Shore! We love that area so much, and we even honeymooned at Bluefin Bay (I recognized the boardwalk and wondered if that was where you were.) Gorgeous photos! I can’t wait to visit that area again sometime. Sigh.

These are just so beautiful. What courage to have your ceremony among the elements. Great way to start your brave new adventures. I especially love the autumn colored tie. Stunning pics.
